A Disciplined Life

Text: Philippians 4:8-9
 
          1. Disciplined Godly Thinking (vs. 8)
               a. True - in accordance with fact and without error or falsehood
               b. Honorable - who or what is noble and worthy of respect
               c. Just - upholding and conforming to what is right and impartial
               d. Pure - holy and morally blameless with no defilement or pollution
               e. Lovely - friendly inclination towards and favorable or even pleasing
               f. Commendable - admirable and of good report or well-spoken about
               g. Excellence - virtue and the highest goodness or moral integrity
               h. Praiseworthy - approval and recognition of something deserving of value 
         
          2. Disciplined Godly Doing (vs. 9)
               a. Learned - knowledge and skill gained as instructed
               b. Received - associated with and has been accepted
               c. Heard - reported or listened to and comprehended
               d. Seen - example that was witnessed and perceived
 
Main Idea: The Inner and Outer Life of a Believer Requires Discipline to God and Brings His Peace
